Welcome to 6BR Moon Kai, a luxurious, oceanfront villa located on the best stretch of soft white beach in Cayman Kai. The open-floor plan and separated suites offer the larger family/group a luxury beach house feel that encourages gathering for dining/swimming/sunbathing/movie & sunset watching... but also offers each couple their own quiet haven away from the rest of the group when needed. A (barefoot) 5-minute walk up the beach to the famous Rum Point Club for watersports, beach volleyball, charters, drinks, dinner, etc. 


Step off the villa's pool deck and onto secluded white sand with and barefoot water entry. Perfect for launching kayaks or paddleboards. The water in front of the villa is perfect for barefoot swimming and easy access.


The 5BR main villa and detached 1BR coach house suite can accommodate a total of 14 guests or 12 adults max. Five oceanfront suites in the main villa sleep 10 adults. Each suite is equipped with an ensuite bathroom and a private screened balcony. Let every guest in your group relax and recharge in style.


The detached coach house sits above the garage and sleeps 2 adults with . This 1,000 sq. ft. apartment comes equipped with a full kitchen, dining area, living area with cable television, and a screened balcony. It also has both wifi and air conditioning. Many of our repeat guests draw straws for this private retreat.

The house was beautiful and extremely comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. The pool and beach area was very usable. We would definitely rent this villa again. We also love the Rum Point and Kaibo Yacht Club area. It’s much quieter than 7-mile beach and the drive to town isn’t bad.

Amazing Cayman retreat

Amazing Property!

Moon Kai is an amazing property! Our group consisted of two families - four parents and 6 kids that are late teens/early 20s. The property gave us enough space to spread out so we didn\'t feel like we were on top of each other, but also had enough large communal spaces that we could all be together . We had dinner together every night on the screened in porch. We loved this space; we felt like we were outside but still protected from elements. The pool deck was also amazing! The whole house had beautiful landscaping. The access to the quiet beach behind the house was very appreciated. The property is with in an easy walk to Rum Point, and an easy bike ride or short drive to Kaibo and Star Fish Point. We also enjoyed kayaking from the property into the Bioluminescent Bay. If this property is available the next time we are planning a trip to Grand Cayman we will definitely stay here again.

Amazing Property

We had an amazing stay at Moon Kai with a group of friends. The house is perfectly set up for couples with all of the en-suite rooms. Everything was clean and very comfortable. The view is amazing, especially at sunset. Very grateful for the screened in porch as the mosquitoes do come out at dusk but it was manageable and they go away once it’s dark. We walked to Rum Point Club for easy lunch and we loved that Kaibo is a few minutes drive for great coffee and delicious meals. The snorkel boat charter was the highlight of our trip!

Great Location

Our family of 5 had a great time at Moon Kai. The house and gardens are beautiful and well situated on the beach, just around the bend from the bio-luminescent bay. The pool was nice and warm, the bedrooms were large and well furnished with comfy beds and high quality linens. The kitchen and lounge area, and screened in porch were great to hang out in and escape sun or the little bit of rain we had. Everyday I’d snorkel off the Sandy point and saw barracuda, snapper, other varieties of fish and lots of sea stars. The little Sandy shelf I used to launch off was full of them throughout our stay. Calm, warm water made this a great spot for snorkeling. It’s a little sea grassy but once in a few feet of water you could easy swim out to sandier and clearer spots. We also walked up to Rum Point and snorkeled in the bay up there which is also calm and warm. Swam with a sea turtle and ray up there. Great spot for beach rest and relaxation!

Perfect House for Us

We were 5 couples of friends who had booked a few years ago and finally got to visit after the island being closed due to pandemic precautions. Moon Kai was a perfect house for all of us. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and nice. The house had all of the amenities that we needed. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals when we needed to. We had Chef Remy at rentachefcayman.com come one night, and that was fantastic. The screened in porch and pool area is very nice. We used the pool quite a bit just to lounge and chill. The beach is beautiful and there is some snorkeling just off of the beach, although bring water shoes because of the jellies and other animals (goes pretty much for anywhere in Cayman). Several of us were divers and were able to easily drive to the dive boats. A couple of us fly fished for bonefish just off of the shore. The house is located next to a bioluminescent bay, and the house has 4 kayaks you can use to paddle over there at night, The Cayman Kayak tour is fun too and recommended. Groceries are a decent drive, and the Rum Point beach restaurant area is still under construction from the hurricane, which was a bummer. Overall, great house and location. Suggest renting a car so you can get places and to the store.

Loved Moon Kai

Moon Kai is a beautiful property. We loved the layout of the home. With the added apartment above the garage it handled our 3 generation group of 12 beautifully. The kitchen was well supplied. The grandkids practically lived in the pool, and the sand area down a few steps was perfect for “pepper” volleyball,which our crew loved. The house kayaks were good quality, and we loved going right out into the bay. Sunsets were a dream as the pool area faces due west. Heavenly. A caution: there is only a convenience store, Chisolms, on the north side; grocery stores are in Georgetown, about 45 min away, and they are closed on Sundays. Plan ahead. Hurley’s delivered ahead of our arrival, met by our manager. Same with alcohol. We were disappointed that Rum Point was closed, but the house was so great, it didn’t matter much. Silver Thatch helped with chef services (Chef Carlos, awesome), World Cat boat to Stingray city (crazy fun!), and scuba with Big Kev (fabulous). Loved every minute of our stay! We’ll be back!!

Amazing home for a special birthday celebration

Our family of 12 spent a week in the beautiful Moon Kai villa. the home was so spacious and comfortable everyone enjoyed their stay. The bedrooms were large and the full baths in each room along with the screened porches were extra special. The screened porch off the pool was perfect for our evening family games and dinners. The kitchen was large enough to allow for several cooks at the same time and the cooking supplies were plentiful for all of our cooking needs. We really loved the restaurant at Rum Point and the close proximity to the house so we could walk or drive. We also enjoyed Kaibo restaurant and bar which was a further walk but still easy enough for us older folks. The house was right on a soft sand beach and the water was calm and clear. The family enjoyed the kayaks and the paddle boards we rented in addition. The pool was so nice to sit and soak just looking out to the beach and ocean. I loved the service and response time from Grand Cayman Villas during the entire process of booking to checking out. The local contact on the island was also very good for anything that we needed assistance on. I would just like to suggest someone create an instruction book on how to work the cable and blue tooth! I would definitely rent this home again and will always look to Grand Cayman Villas to book!

Ideal Location!

We arrived after dark with our family of 9 including 3 children ages 8, 7, and 5. It was exciting enough to see the inside of this beautiful home and choosing who would sleep where. Awaking the next morning to see the pool and beach was everything we expected and more. The location is ideal if you want quiet and privacy. If you want to do lots of things in Georgetown it is a drive, so this is something to consider. We went into town only one day and ate at restaurants that were closer to the home. The home was spotless with all the amenities you could want. Moon Kai is well represented on the website. The beds are very comfortable and inviting. Kitchen was very well equipped. The house even had an elevator which we used a few times for fun. We did have an issue with the ice maker and after calling it took 2 days for it to be fixed. The kids especially loved the pool and beach. We were a little disappointed when walking into the water that it was very lumpy, we think due to the crabs. There was also a considerable amount of seaweed. Having said that we did enjoy the beach and the ability to just walk out the front door. The kayaks and paddle boards included were fun for all. The views were spectacular! The short walk to Rum Point was a plus. We went for lunch one day and a nice dinner another. If we were to go back to Grand Cayman we would definitely go to back to Moon Kai. Definitely a place to relax.

Never have I rented a home where every aspect of my expectations were exceeded. There is always something that does not meet my desires. That was not the case with Moon Kai. Huge bedrooms, all king bedding, comfy mattresses and pillows, each with balcony and view Huge living area - well decorated, comfortable Beautiful kitchen - well equipped Large pool deck - enough lounge chairs for everyone, shade if wanted Large infinity pool - you can stare at the ocean for hours The beach is enormous and so clean - seriously large Silver Thatch was a great value with all they offer Grand Cayman Villas answered al ll of our questions We did not need the manager, but he checked in on us to make sure we were pleased. We will return to Moon kai, and highly recommend to any others looking at this option!!

Our Happy Spot!!

We returned to Moon Kai for our second time this spring break. Planning our third now! Spacious home. Well appointed. Comfortable. 5 large king master suites - needed as we have adult couples and 6 teens!! The Carriage House is just fantastic. Great place to relax and enjoy quiet time. But the beach is the big draw.. Simply perfect. They have cleared all vegetation and the beach is huge. barefoot swimming too. We walked to Rum Point every day. Had a few lunches at Kaibo (brick oven pizza a must). Starfish Point, Bio Bay at night and Stingray City are our favorites. This year there is a ferry service from Kaibo to Camana Bay. Recommend that! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our families again!

Beautiful home and relaxing vacation

We just got back from staying in Moon Kai for a week during spring break with our family. We have been traveling to Cayman every year for the last 24 years and have always stayed in the same place on 7 Mile Beach. We have considered staying in Cayman Kai in the past, but always loved the convenience and beauty of West Bay. We booked this house as a last minute trip, and we are so glad we did! It was much less crowded than the 7mile beach area for spring break, and a really nice change. The house was beautiful and very comfortable. We loved having king beds and en suite baths in each bedroom. All previous reviews about the comfort and supply of amenities were spot on. Sunsets are amazing! We loved having a pool and used it every day. The house is located on one of the best beaches in Cayman Kai. We rented a couple of paddle boards for the week, but found that we enjoyed the provided kayaks more. We had a few maintenance issues during our stay but nothing major and the house manager, Roy, was very quick to rectify them all! Lovely man. I do have a few cons (however, none of these are the fault of the rental agency, and are completely out of their control): 1. During our stay, there was new construction going on right next door. We had to listen to drills and nail guns Every. Single. Day. Even on Sunday!! 2. We never knew this until this trip, but the locals have boat parties in front of Rum Point on Sundays (their off day), and on local holidays (there was one during our stay). So, for 2 days during our stay, we had to listen to them partying and playing their music (Caribbean Hip Hop is the best way I can describe it) very loudly all day long. They arrive around 1pm, and don\'t leave until sunset. The Sunday crowd was extremely large, so visiting Rum Point was not enjoyable. Again, even though neither of these are the rental companies fault, I do feel that they should have been mentioned or disclaimed on the house web site.

Great Vacation!

We stayed in Moon Kai for a whole week around Thanksgiving with the whole family, all 13 of us. The house is big, well furnished, enough bedrooms with bathrooms. Master suite was indeed a Master Suite. Pool awesome for the grandkids. The beach and ocean were literally steps away and ready for kayaking, swimming and walking. Very quiet neighborhood away the crazy 7 mile beach area with the cruise ships and too many tourists. So if you like beautiful, quiet and spacious, you got it here in Moon Kai! We loved it. We highly recommend to hire Linda as a cook. She did awesome job and being home again, we miss the treat of having someone to make meals and do the shopping!

Wow!

Wow is all you\'ll think when you see this house in person. It\'ll take your breath away! Our whole large family loved it which is hard to make happen on any trip! The grandparents loved the privacy of the guesthouse. The kids had their own area upstairs and everyone would come together in the pretty open living room and patio. Make sure you book a charter with George!! Best day we had was out on the snorkel charter. We couldn\'t have asked for a better trip or a better place to stay.

Best Family Beach Vacay Ever!!

We were traveling with our entire family and couldn't have picked a better beach house for our summer trip. The home was big enough for all of us to spread out from the bedrooms to the living room, porch, and of course the pool. We stopped along the way to stock up on groceries as we tend to eat in when traveling with the family. We grilled out as much as we could and ate out on the pool deck or porch taking in those amazing views!! If I lived here I would never get tired of those sunsets. We booked a charter to Stingray City and stopped off at Starfish Point coming back. I would love to come back but maybe next time it'll just be me and my husband lol!

Spectacular Property

I really wish that we didn\'t have to leave Moon Kai. It was the perfect house. They have a ramp that you can use to roll your luggage to the front door instead of carrying it up all the stairs. They even have an elevator to take the luggage to the second floor for you! The house was incredible, even the guest house. We loved the automatic shades and the view of the ocean from the living room. We would come back every month if we could. What an amazing experience that we will never forget. We even decided to take a boat charter with Silver Thatch and George was one helluva captain. Can\'t express our gratitude enough.

Rent Every Year - Cayman is BEST!

My family and I have rented a house for a week, every year for the past 8+ years. (Most recently Dominican, Turks and Caicos, Cozumel, Hawaii, etc) Your property is one of the most immaculate, thoughtfully laid out, well-equipped and maintained, places in which we have stayed. The ocean view was beautiful! The screened-in porches allowed us to enjoy the sunset and dining al fresco without concerns of mosquitoes or other bugs. The dining table was large enough to comfortably fit all 12 of us. The common room A/C allowed us more time together instead of retreating to our rooms mid day to cool off. And the management company, was pleasant, responsive and professional. We went scuba diving, snorkeling, boat to stingray city and many of these outings were conveniently located at Rum Point, a walk or one minute drive away. We visited Spotts Beach and saw 6 sea turtles. A truly wonderful vacation with something for everyone!

5 stars doesn\'t seem like enough for this house. It is so amazingly beautiful! I seriously was trying to find labels for pillows and throws so I could go buy them for my own house! The pool is so stunning you\'ll have to remind yourself that the whole ocean is right there! We walked to starfish point one day which was really fun. You have to eat at the Kaibo! We had great service and food! It is perfect because you can get on your snorkel charter there so we just ate at the Kaibo after! You\'ll love this home!!

Amazing Sunsets & Views

From the moment we pulled up into the driveway, I fell in love with this house. The landscaping is lush and beautiful with the pergola porch swings making it feel as if I was in a secret tropical garden. The interior of the home is incredible. The decor is very contemporary and the views are just WOW!! You can tell the homeowner takes great care of the home as all the rooms were clean and tidy with quality sheets, linens, and pillows. I don\'t think we ever left the house outside of our charter to Stingray City--we had everything we could want at home! Fabulous pool and deck area, screened in porch for sunset viewings, and bedroom balconies for extra lounging space. The neighborhood is very quite and the convenience of being close to Rum Point sold us on this house. We can\'t wait to return in 2019!!

Comfortable, roomy home!

This is the perfect house if you are looking to be on the \\\"quieter\\\" side of the island! We enjoyed being able to walk down to Rum Point for quick access to water sports and to get some drinks and a tasty lunch! All thoroughly enjoyed having a private pool, and the kids really enjoyed the kayaks. This property works well for multiple families, because all bedrooms are private with their own bathroom. The only issue we experienced during our stay was the main master suite air conditioner failed. The property manager was VERY responsive and the unit was completely replaced the next day. So, any previous reviews you read about that issue ... should be resolved! We will return to the beautiful island of Grand Cayman!

Just Perfect

Paradise Home!!

This was our first time to Grand Cayman and our first vacation rental. I admit I was nervous about the whole experience but it couldn\'t have been more perfect! We had the home stocked with groceries, beer and wine prior to our arrival and it made a world of difference. The house was immaculately clean when we arrived and had the feel of a posh five star hotel. We used the elevator to lift our luggage to the upper bedrooms which was a truly nice touch. After 5 hours on a plane none of us wanted to haul our bags up the stairs. We spent most of our vacation out by the pool and would stroll over to Rum Point for lunch. We also walked to the Kaibo a few times which was not too far away. The neighborhood is full of beautiful homes with waterviews making our morning walks so scenic. We took the ferry service from the Kaibo to Camana Bay for a day trip to Seven Mile Beach returning just before sunset. We had amazing views coming back as the sun was setting off to the west. All in all we had a great experience and will look to book vacation rentals again over hotels.

Right when you lug all your stuff in you\'re tired and just want to leave it in the living room and take it up to your room later BUT then you realize the house has an elevator! Yeah you read that right an elevator!! It was awesome. We sent up all of our luggage and it made our lives so much easier! The home is gorgeous inside and out. I felt like I was in an HGTV house!

50th Birthday celebration-awesome

We just returned from Moon Kai and the photos don't do this villa justice. There were two couples and three single folks, the rooms are situated so they are very private and each one has a great ocean view. There was plenty of room and all the amenities are top notch. The week we spent there it felt like our own private beach. Walking up to Rum Pointe to have lunch and mudslides was so relaxing. We also booked our snorkel and sting ray excursion through Red Sail Sports in Rum Pointe. Another amazing outing. I'm glad we decided to stay where things were within walking distance, yet very private. The BBQ dinner at Kaibo Beach club was delicious and the band that plays on Tuesday nights was rockin...Great fun. We contacted Rosie Paris,who was recommended by Grand CAyman VIllas and Condos and she came in and cooked for us on two seperate occassions. The food was delicious and they couldn't have been any nicer. I would highly recommend hiring Rosie and her team. I would recommend a car, it gave us the freedom to hit the grocery store when we needed. Its hard to buy all you need for a week at the beginning of your trip. The recommendations found on Grand Cayman Villas website and on their mobile app are incredibly helpful. Download the app, it came in very handy.

Beautiful Home on Beautiful Beach

I would love to give this home a 5-Star rating. This is the most difficult review that I have ever written. Our experience with Jim & Grace with Grand Cayman Villas was fantastic! The concierge, Jenny, with Beach House Butlers was amazing! Our catering by Mise en Place was over-the-top delicious! Charter with Red Sail was perfect. The location is just perfect! We walked to Rum Point for lunches. Cooked our own breakfast. But the new home needs some work on the a/C. Four out of five bedrooms were stuffy and warm for the entire trip. One night, after the repair people finally came and cleaned out the filters it was better. Although, the next night the bedrooms were hot again. The a/C in all bedrooms is set at 74 degrees, except the Master, which stays cool. The four other bedrooms were between 76-84 degrees at 10PM each evening. By morning they were down to 74. We did not complain the first day because the draperies had been open to the beautiful west view when we arrived, so we were under the impression that the sun had warmed the rooms. But we kept the draperies closed the entire trip and were uncomfortable every night. The property manager was very hard to reach, although the Jim from Grand Cayman Villas was very easy to reach. And the actual owner of the home even called. I hope they will get this resolved! Please lease this home during the cooler months if possible. It is amazing! We loved the spot on the beach, and the beautiful pool! It is wonderful home! Each of the five bedrooms has a view of the ocean and a private patio, along with a twin bed fold out sofa. There is a loft with four twin beds with a flat screen TV. We had a family of 15 and did not use all of the beds (10 adults and 5 toddlers). The large kitchen and open plan provided a perfect setting for gatherings of family or friends! It is a wonderful place. We had a beautifully served meal on the patio with live music the last night with a the sun setting directly in the water. Amazing!!
THANKS for the review. You hit the nail on the head; the house and experience was great; but the (New) A/C system was fussy (twitchy thermostats we found out)and needed maintenance. The owner scrambled the manufacturer rep and builder and they were able to keep it at 74 degrees with low humidity. These guests wanted it colder; so there are some limits that are being reached. These guests were very pleasant and enjoyed the house otherwise; but that was an issue that we are addressing.

The Best Villa in Cayman Kai/Rum Point

Wow. Perfection on vacation. Probably the best location on the entire island if you are a large group of friends or family. This villa is brand new and perfectly laid out. All 5 bedrooms in the main house have Northsound views, king beds and showers for two! They are positioned so they have no common walls making each room very private. The kitchen is well equipped allowing us to prepare most of our own meals and save a huge amount of money! The best part of the beach is right out the door, just past the infinity pool. We also had the carriage house. It has a living room, dining area, kitchen,and a huge master bathroom. There were 10 adults, 4 children, and 2 infants in our group. We had more than enough room and privacy. We walked to rum point club every day, in our bare feet, and snorkeled right out in front of the villa every day. We saw the entire island on our 8 day stay, but by far our favorite place to be was poolside at Moon Kai. One day we rented a boat and enjoyed being out on the North Sound and visiting stingray sandbar. We could bring the boat right up to the beach to drop people off and get more on. It would have been nice to have a couple of kayaks available for us but they can be rented just down the beach. Working with Jim and Grace at grandcaymanvillas.net was a breeze and I highly recommend them. Your attention and flexibility with the back and forth with my group was very appreciated. Jim, the pictures you have on the website don't do this place justice. Maybe you could provide a link just for more pictures!? Thank you all so much for a perfect vacation!!!

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east, so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman.

The homes on the sound in front of Cayman Kai offer the best beaches as they do not have as much marine and plant life trying to make a home in the shallows. The beaches usually are soft white sand.  The homes facing west offer barefoot swimming, sunsets, and shallow calm water.

The sunsets are also wonderful, but the big draw to this area is the proximity to the Rum Point Club, a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach, many watersports, a restaurant bar and grill, a gift shop, and pick-up beach volleyball games. Also near Rum Point is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar and marina.

All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Crown owns up to the high water mark.

The shoreline quality behind your property may vary slightly from the images on our website due to shifting tides and weather patterns. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed

Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally.

Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency over the years during the summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival.

Villa Cleaning & Sanitation

All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.

Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival.

Getting Around

A rental car is highly recommended. Taxi cabs are unreliable and expensive outside of town and Seven Mile Beach. Plus, there is no Uber or Lyft on the island. 

For rental cars, we recommend Budget Cayman, Avis, or Marshalls.
